FDI led a banner signing campaign on which the women’s rights leaders from all over the Global South wrote their support for FDI’s initiative.
FDI’s founder & executive director had the opportunity to attend a Leadership Institute organized by Program for Women Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (PWESCR) for women’s rights leader in the Global South. In attendance at the Institute in Sri Lanka were 42 participants from three gender groups and 14 countries. FDI led a banner signing campaign on which the women’s rights leaders from all over the Global South wrote their support for FDI’s initiative. Notable and renowned human rights activists including Ms. Virginia Bras Gomes, a commissioner to International Council of Human Rights at UN Geneva, signed the banner in favor of FDI’s mission and encouraged many others to support the bold initiatives. This leadership institute was a greater opportunity to introduce FDI at the regional and Global South levels, and a number of women’s rights leaders showed their support from their respective countries.
